YEAR REPRESENTATIVES
Fourth-Year Rep
NAVYA MATHUR
Hey, my name is Navya (They/She). I’m in my fourth year in the Forensic Psychology specialist, and I'm thrilled to serve as one of the Year Representatives for this academic year! I fell in love with forensics when I completed a six-week course from the University of Strathclyde during COVID lockdown, which helped me understand the reality of this field beyond its portrayals in media. As a year representative, I hope to bring many exciting events and opportunities to you all throughout the year. In my free time, I help host and organize music shows and festivals all over Toronto, and I’m a classically trained operatic soprano. Feel free to reach out to me, and I look forward to everything this year holds!
Fourth-Year Rep
ALSACE WU
Hi everyone! I’m Alsace (she/her), and I am excited to be one of the year representatives for the 2024-2025 year! I am currently in my fourth and final year of the Forensic Biology specialist program. Throughout my degree I have grown particularly interested in STR Profiling and DNA mixtures, as well as Forensic Identification! I can’t wait to be a part of the Year Rep team to bring you guys fun and informative events, many of which you know and love, as well as new ones this year. Throughout the years I have met so many incredible people through the IVNVI and the forensic science community and hope that I can do the same for you all through the upcoming events and opportunities this year!
Third-Year Rep
NICOLE AYOTTE
Hello! I’m Nicole (she/her), a third-year student double majoring in Forensic Science and Chemistry with an interest in pursuing Forensic Toxicology. My fascination with forensics began in middle school when my mother shared her experiences from a forensics class she took, and my passion has only grown since studying at UTM. Learning from the incredible professors in the forensics department has deepened my love for toxicology and solidified my determination to pursue this path.
I’m so excited to be part of IVNVI, where I get to meet others who are just as passionate about forensics as I am. Outside of my academic interests, I love playing guitar, watching anime, and going to the gym. A fun fact about me: I own way too many plants and have a 5-month-old kitten! And if you know anything about kittens at that age, you'll know they're absolutely wild.
I can’t wait to see what this year has in store!
Third-Year Rep
MIA WHITE
Hi everyone! My name is Mia (she/her), and I’m so excited to be one of your IVNVI Third Year Representatives for the 2024-25 academic year! I am thrilled to have the opportunity to study Forensic Science at UTM, a dream I’ve had since I discovered the field (through superhero TV shows) and started to research all the amazing pathways it has to offer. I am currently in my third year of the Forensic Anthropology Specialist program, and I had the pleasure of participating in the Forensic Anthropology Field School this past summer. I’d be happy to answer any questions you might have about the program or just to chat about Forensics in general! When I’m not studying, you’ll probably see me around the RAWC Pool or in the Roy Ivor Hall Music Room playing piano or singing with friends. I can't wait to meet all of you during the exciting events we have planned for our best year yet at the IVNVI!
Second-Year Rep
XIMENA CASTILLO
Hello everyone! My name is Ximena (she/her/hers), your second-year representative for IVNVI, and I’m so excited to have the opportunity to serve as a bridge between you and our club’s leadership. As my role implies, I am currently a second-year international student from Mexico, and I am in the forensic anthropology specialist and doing a biology minor.

My role here is to ensure that your voices are heard, and to provide opportunities for growth and to cultivate our shared passion, forensics! I want to create a space where we can foster connections and make sure our club experiences are enjoyable for every member.

Throughout this year, I will be working closely with other representatives and the IVNVI officials to organize events, address concerns, and to promote engagement. My door is always open, whether it's to suggest new activities or to chat about how we can improve, I would love to hear what you think! My goal is to make IVNVI a place where everyone feels valued and engaged.

I can't wait to get started and to collaborate with all of you to achieve our maximum potential as a team!
Second-Year Rep
CRYSTAL WIDBUR
Hi everyone! My name is Crystal Widbur, and I am one of your second-year year representatives! I go by she/they pronouns, and I am currently in the forensic biology specialist with a minor in anthropology. I am super excited to be a year rep for IVNVI this year as I am super passionate about forensic science. Growing up with my dad as a police officer, he has fuelled my love and passion for forensics and is time after time my source of inspiration. Please feel free to reach out and ask questions or provide any feedback/ideas, I’m always open to talk!
First-Year Rep
RIDA CHAUDHARY
Hello! My name is Rida, and my pronouns are she/her. I’m a first year in the program with hopes of going into a double major of psychology and forensic science. Some of my hobbies include reading, playing video games, and rewatching all my favourite TV shows (the current obsession is New Girl!). I am also a huge fan of baking and jamming out to music—and I’m always open to new music recommendations for anyone who has them! I’m super excited to be a year rep for the IVNI club and put together some wonderful events this year with our amazing team. I’ve always loved putting on events, and am especially ecstatic to be able to put all my old murder mystery novels ideas into test now. I hope that I can help organize some great stuff this year, and I hope everyone has a blast in this coming school term!
First-Year Rep
BRANDON JASZTRAB
Hello! In the world of forensics, details matter—so here’s a bit about me: I’m a first-year student aiming for the Forensic Biology Specialist/Major. I’m excited to help plan and organize events to engage our amazing forensic-loving community. Before coming to UTM, I organized events at the St. George campus and really enjoy getting people involved.
Outside of classes, I’m a fan of true crime documentaries, music, talking to strangers and running the trails around campus. Fun fact, I used to compete in ballet, jazz and contemporary dance and choreographed for an artistic team at UTSG.
I want to get as many people attending and involved in IVNVI as possible, so if you have any ideas or want to help out, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I love talking and am always up for a chat, so feel free to come say hi anytime!
